Villa Manuk is built on the birthplace of my husband, Nyoman Tirtawan, which he inherited from his family. My name is Beate, and together with Nyoman, we have dedicated ourselves to creating a special place here in his home village.

After successfully running our restaurant, Warung Bambu Pemaron, since 1998, we dreamed of building something in Nyoman’s village—not just for ourselves but also to provide job opportunities in this small community, where many families still face economic challenges.

With my experience as a General Manager in a spiritual retreat resort for over three years, the time felt right to start building Villa Manuk in 2007. In the early days, from 2008 onwards, we had very few guests, as Villa Manuk initially consisted of just two rooms, a kitchen, and a large garden. By 2010, we expanded with two more rooms, a swimming pool, a small restaurant, and a traditional Massage Bale, making Villa Manuk what it is today.

Our dedicated team, all from the village of Manuksesa, ensures that every guest has a memorable stay:

• Made Karmika, known as “Robot”, is our Villa Manager. Together with Ayu, he takes care of the kitchen, rooms, and overall guest experience. Robot is also a fantastic local tour guide.
• Jero Mangku (Komang Arya) lovingly maintains the garden and swimming pool.
• Made ensures security and looks after Villa Manuk during the night.
• Ketut, our skilled massage therapist, and Ayu from the service team are both trained in traditional Balinese massage, offering guests a truly relaxing experience.
